What is the reason behind the opuntias ( and consoleas and others)' cladode weird flat shape?
Can be the sun exposure. Cladodes act like leaves more or less. But can be dropped if needed in case of drought. The old stems that not have green tissue any more and are just trunks or branches become cylindrical, right?
