Problem with my Cardon (Pachycereus pringle)

Post by Vingames1 »

Well with all the rain here in SoCal this winter it's been a struggle to keep them out of the rain. My saguaros are doing fine but I just noticed on one of my cardons the ridges on the top of the plant are turning a dark blue. It almost looks like rotting but it's soft yet. Any options on what might be happening?

Dark blue ribs doesn't sound like a symptom of rotting. If it's too wet, rot problems would normally start at the base of the stem (or at any scars, cuts, insect damage etc).
I think close up photos of the problem would help.
