Lithops in the uk winter . . . Advice needed

Post by hardcoregeneral »

Hi there,

I have a small selection of different Lithops that are in my little greenhouse alongside my cacti collection. I have brought most if my collection indoors now but the lithops are still out there. Space is limited in the house now with all windowsills full of plants. What I would like to know us shall I bring in the lithops indoors? They have started splitting and multiplying for the first time in a couple of years so I don't want to disturb them if I don't have to? Advice much appreciated.

Whats the temperature in your GH and what are the humidity levels?
Also what are your indoor conditions?

I dont think moving them a few steps from one place to another is too problematic so long as they're left alone past that.

Congratulations, everyone should have a small collection of Lithops ;)

Lithops are very tolerant in winter, provided they aren't getting dripped on. They are all quite happy down to freezing, and most a long way below that. They'll do OK indoors too, but might stretch a but in warmer darker conditions.
