Pitaya on a rock

Pitaya on a rock

I though this rock would be a great spot for a pitaya, so a couple years ago I planted some cuttings at the base. Green fruit is visible at top center and there are a couple more on the other side of the rock.

I love it! Always looking for creative ways to showcase the 'climbers', 'hangers', and the 'floppers' in a natural setting!

Saw a talk by Graham Charles last week on plants in habitat and one scrambling Cereus was clambering over virtually bare rocks just like that.
