Is there such thing as a spineless Trichocereus?
Is there such thing as a spineless Trichocereus?
Can anyone recommend a spineless Trichocereus? The only one I found online were some forms of T. scopulicola.
Re: Is there such thing as a spineless Trichocereus?
Curt Backeberg many years ago introduced a virtually spineless form of T. pachanoi to cultivation recommending it as a grafting stock.

With many of the Trichocerei in this group the degree of spination can vary with locality, plus seed may have been selected in habitat from spineless plants and a spineless clone now produced in cultivation. You will probably find most of the information on these on the "cactus chewers" websites!
