Eriosyce aurata varieties
Eriosyce aurata varieties
Here is apparently plain E. aurata, no previous or variety names that I'm aware of. Actually six plants from two different locations, although the differences in appearance don't correspond to the two locations. The little one at back right lost its roots and regrew them, but that's the exception rather than the rule. Usually if you kill the roots then the plant will follow.
These are just seedlings, although already a good size at less than one year old. On the left is var combarbalensis and on the right "Sandillon", the old sunk name.
This has been really difficult. Germination was slow and never very good, then more than half of them didn't survive. It is var spinibarbis, two years old.
