Brown and Green Copiapoas
I lost the label on these baby Copiapoas so I don't know the species, but they are all from the same packet of seed and one of them is green, the rest are brown. My question is this: Is the green seedling a brown coloring deficient abnormality, or is it just a completely different species seed accidently mixed in, or is it a hybrid from a stray grain of pollen?

Re: Brown and Green Copiapoas
I can't ID the soft bodied Copiapoas to save my life but I can see both sides of the picture.
The flowers are different between the two. Could be different species.
Or, could be the same species but of different characteristics. I have so many different looking C cinerea from the same parentage that you'd think they were from parents miles apart.
I'm going to side with different sp based upon flowers. Red tinge is usually a marker.
But not always.
Ugh.
Don't loose tags of Copiapoas!!!!!

All look like C. humilis, although it can be hard to tell at this size. That one sure looks different though, maybe some foreign pollen?
