How does it compare to a Thanksgiving cactus regarding, humidity, soil, light, watering etc.?

both of them are tropical cacti. Fertilyze em regularly and keep them damp, not WET damp.. and they dont need full sun either.

should be. Mine survive fine with the cooler on and it being slightly warm and humid. Today we had rain, humidity was around 90% inside which is high, due to the cooler

hahaha good question, the ones at my house havent bloomed yet, the ones on the other one at my ex's house aborted theirs due to cold I think.

I have the average home humidity, will it adapt? Should I set up a humidity tray?

you can treat it just the same as the other. Humidity really isn't an issue. If your humidity is low, water more often, if it is really high, then you don't need to water as much.

I heard these guys drop pads if not watered at the right time. I also wonder about getting em to flower.

I think they will drop pads if they are really unhappy - for a while. I have two and never had problems with that and I do not give them special treatment in the least. Mine bloom 2 or 3 times every year. Usually the biggest blooming is February or March, but I do believe mine are blooming right now even. Maybe I can sneak an updated picture.

Yeah I'd like to see! So I guess you don't have to do all that 50-55F nonsense to get them to bloom.
