Thought Glued flowers were bad?

Post by paulzie32 »

While searching for a certain cactus, I stumbled upon a blog (http://www.greenhousegoodlife.com/2011/ ... -that.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) whose author posted an image of some cactus they saw in a nursery.

Now THIS is..... I don't even have the right word for it #-o

lol I have the words for this. I hope that the person who cut these falls into an Opuntia while doing that and has to get several thousand glochids removed from their private parts!

Egads! That's a new one on me. I guess if people want to cut their Opuntia, more power to them, but I don't know what the purpose is???

It would serve them right if several ferocacti and opuntias convenently fell from a plane while they were outside...

For those of you "The Simpsons" fans out there, check out episode #83. There's a sequence involving Sideshow Bob you might find amusingly pertinent.

Straw flowers, googly eyes, painted spines and bodies, and now Texas shaped prickly pears, seems cacti are regularly abused. The only other plant travesty I can think of offhand, is the cruel and unusual treatment some phalenopsis (orchids) endure. Who wants an unnatural looking navy blue phalenopsis when the flowers are so lovely to begin with?

Oooh! The Rare Blue Phaleanopsis! Just as rare as the Pink, Green and Purple Phaleanopsis! I believe the company that has the "patent" on the dyed orchids is right here in Florida. Silver Vase Nursery maybe?
