'some' new plants - even more new plants!

Re: 'some' new plants
thank you for the information and the seedling pics, I guess I will call it p. marayesensis then!
apparently it does! I have two pups near the bottom of the scionPyrrhocactus don't do pups! Maybe it will on a graft

Re: 'some' new plants
yesterday I went on a field trip with our local cactus club, we visited three hobbyists and one professional grower, here are some more plants I brought home:
echinocereus scheerii echinocereus viereckii ssp. morricalii gymnocalicium ferrarii sulcorebutia purpurea a stowaway sulcorebutia rauschii sulcorebuta NOID #1 sulcorebutia NOID #2 sulcorebutia tarabucoensis L382 weingartia aureiflora, an absolutely nonsensical name (almost ALL of them have yellow flowers!) I'll have another field day determining what it really is
I'm guessing lanata weingartia multispina

Great stuff!
Amazing how many different names for Weingartia there are when you consider that some sources list them all under one species. Very extreme disconnect between the lumpers and splitters here.

All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
Re: 'some' new plants - even more new plants!
oh, now you've got me going!
I don't know what they had in mind lumping weingartia and sulcorebutia like that, with such diversity there's plenty that merits species status for a LOT of different plants
it wasn't under one species though, actually there are three: neocumingii group, neumanniana group (north and south) and browsing through the guide I found the remnant of the sulcorebutia genus containing one plant, s. krahnii, an obvious weingartia.
I strongly strongly strongly disagree with this superficial lumping, same goes for what they did to eriosyce, parodia and echinopsis, but weingartia is definitely the most extreme example
