echinocerus and softness

echinocerus and softness

after 3 of my echinoceruses went soft i did some research apparently there pretty soft bodied and squishy so do my echinos need more water or is it just their nature?

Don't know about the genus as a whole, so I can only cite the 2 I have in my collection. While I wouldn't call the Echinocereus viridiflorus I recently got from M2G "squishy", its flesh does have some give -- pretty sure that's normal. My rigidissimus rubispinus is rock hard. It may get a bit soft during its winter dormancy, but first watering of spring brings it right back.

ok i have bonkera? reichenbachii triglochidiatus inermis their all soft
