My eriosyce villosa is budding up and for some reason, while most of my astrophytum's have buds waiting, the capricorne's have buds that are stretching up and swelling.

One I recently inherited from a good friend of mine who died last year and so I did not have time to set up for a proper photo, this just being a snatched hand held one taken in situ in my staging's.

Matucana calliantha

Another of his that flowered still in the trays I transported them in, but not yet re-potted. Again a snatched picture since I was busy repotting all the plants from him and washing off the mealy bugs he was unable to get around to. At least I now have some plants to remember him by.

Yes Matucana's have some nice flowers Robb. Unfortunately my friend was not too well towards the end and this is one of his plants that got badly sunburnt in his greenhouse last summer. I got it a bit too late last year top do anything drastic, but will have to top it and force it to offset and then root a clean offset in due course. At least it will propagate and I never throw a plant away that's damaged which will propagate. However this was one of the few in his collection that did get damaged luckily.

The label says Submatucana huagalensis but I have not had chance to check it is correct yet. Submatucana is now usually just sunk into Matucana.
