Booming Mam

I just wanted to share a picture of my m. mazatlanensis....first year , no blooms....second year one bloom...this year it seems to be happy!

Did you do anything different? I have one & although it looks OK, the flowering is sparse. Sue

Looks a bit like a mammillaria fraileana. At least the flowers do. :D

I did nothing different...Cactus juice twice in the spring and twice in the fall...in sun from sunrise until noon under heavy shade cloth (the AZ sun is blistering in the summer)...outside all year (covered with sheet when the temp drops under 35)...dry in winter, average water in the summer. This past year the winter low was only 32; two years ago it dropped to 23 and we had approximately 10 days under 32. Perhaps the recent mild winter was a benefit.

The flowers do look a like a m. fraileana but the plants are somewhat different as you are probably aware.
