Opuntia hondurensis flowers maybe

Post by Peterthecactusguy »

Daiv,
if I am lucky I might be getting some flowers on my O. hondurensis althought, they might be pads. I will let you know if they turn into flowers and of course I will snap some pics. Should be a red flower and it will look vaguely like a Nopalea flower. :)
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.

BTW while I didnt take a picture (I forgot too) I have a few that I think should be flower buds. They are strange but the only picture I have seen attributed to O. hondurensis on the internet (its the same picture on Cactiguide) the flowers appear to be like a Nopalea. I will take pictures once it blooms. :)

K, it is still blooming, I will take the best pictures I get, and send them off in a few days. :) The flowers are very strange and are the type that don't open up very far at all. They are interesting tho :)
