Re: Kristian_Fossmo grow log

I've been growing them only for a couple years, so my experience is just with seedlings (I don't count the one I got as a Christmas present once - it didn't grow at all, simply died when Spring came). I follow Ian's advice and water them only when the leaves start to wrinkle, they do just fine. I had one year-old Salicola become "stacked" last Fall, but the old leaves shriveled over the Winter when left dry.

Those are fine, just hold off watering now until those old leaves shrivel.

Yep, that is my plan. Maybe they get a drink in september then... The others are on the non water diet until the older leaves are completely dry. The experiment resulted in some experience though, so that is a positive :).

Yes! Three of them, still alive and looking good :).

One of them suffered an accident from my son, so it lost one leaf. But it just continued to grow it out again.
Pots are 10x10 cm.

Hi Kristian. Good to know your Pachypodium recovered. I've learned too that they like frequent waterings during the growing season.

Yeah, it really took off and did not loose so many leaves this winter, and spring is on its way with brighter days :)
