The seed distributor could have mixed a few seeds in the bag with seeds you ordered. I can imagine a seed staying behind on the seed counting table, only to end up in some envelope of a different species eventually. I had a Mammillaria growing in a pot of Lophophora, a Mammillaria I certainly have never ordered. It just came along with the other seeds as a bonus.

Of all the seeds I have sown over the last 3 years this Echinocereus Chloranthus has grown the fastest. It also has beautiful spination with the lovely red spines contrasting with the white ones. Hopefully some flowers fairly soon to top it off??

I thought it was time to try to acclimatise some of this year's sowings which have so far spent their lives in the greenhouse in the plastic boxes for extra humidity. I took a few of them out a few minutes ago:

Been pricking out some of the larger 2016 seedlings into my clear food containers from their 2 inch pots. Still loads to do but they can probably wait until next year:

Here's a wider shot:

..and here are some Epithelantha which were from my own plant and just about the first seeds I sowed in late 2013:

Quiz time. What are these 2? Not immediately obvious. Have a guess, even just the genus.

Robb

Wrong answer I'm afraid. If you had just said Turbinicarpus...............you would still have been wrong.

No clues yet.

Maybe Yavia cryptocarpa? Although I would expect them to be more yellowish.

I was thinking something like this.

M. solisiodes?

Anyone can read through that label? Looks like two relatively long names for both genus and species of about the same length and no subspecies name, for as far as I can see through the label. Mammillaria solisiodes could fit.
