Yes, aquariums, I would avoid. I'm talking more of an outdoor pool where they could stay year round and then a small indoor pond area for those that can't take the winter.Moonbeam wrote:I just know the hassle of having aquariums, and that would be the hubbys job to clean it out.

Sorry I missed this Daiv.daiv wrote:Tony, I know what you meant there. In San Clemente, I had the occasional pet bird show up in our back yard. Sounds like you must catch them somehow?
I used to put my (clipped) pet Nanday in a small lemon tree for a few hours a day and one day I went out and bamm! there were two in the tree!
It was a bit hesitant at first but was tame and came to me after it saw my bird was not afraid of me.
The others I can only explain as possably having heat exhaustion/dehydration on 100+deg days and were to weak to escape.
After a little rehabilitation they were as good as new.
The cockatiel is studding right now at a friends house that is a breeder, seems his male birds wernt getting the job done so he asked if he could use mine to try and get em going again.
Cool little tort moonbeam.
Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!

He was looking at either his mouse or one of his penguins(For some odd reason he loves penguin toys. He doesn't play with many toys except for anything that looks like a penguin, he has 4 different penguins and loves them and plays with them all of the time, but hardly ever touches his mouses or toys with catnip in them or any other toy. Just penguins!) My cat is wierd, I know. I'll look for another picture from that same time of what he was looking at.

Got some cute pictures of my dogs this winter.
Bogey dreaming of adventures down the street:
Tucker proving that dachshunds can fly, and protecting his frog.
Bogey and Mindy coming in from checking the cactus.
Ally being a princess. (There's one in every pack.)

It’s not the fall that kills you; it’s the sudden stop at the end.

Here are my fabulous cats. I had a cat for 15 years that recently died of cancer. I got these two from the local shelter.
First we have Spot. She's a female and was about 2 years old when I got her. She's very vocal, especially at breakfast time! She has huge paws for her size and has very short hair.
Posing for a pic...
Guarding the sign, or the rock, or the Fero. You can never tell with cats...
Posing the other way...
And now for Red. He's had several names; he was Julius when we got him (Orange Julius, get it? ha...). He showed an immediate proclivity for catching and killing things, so he was Hunter for a while. Then I figured he probably wasn't such a good hunter but really a lucky killer. Something would wander past him and he'd grab it. So he was Killer for a while. I don't really like multiple syllable names for my cats so now he's Red. He was 5 months old when we got him. This is the first male cat I've ever had. I've had to bathe him once already and it looks like monthly baths are going to be required.
