Hello, I noticed a new flower in my garden this morning. It is listed below first. This cactus (South American) has never bloomed in my yard. Alas, it has been difficult to grow this outdoors in Sparks. Seems to like moderate weather and temps in the 60 to 75 F range.
Here goes:
above is a hybrid of my creation. Next is its little sister.
next is a Mamm bought at Lowes. I usually do not buy non-hardy cacti, but this one grabbed my heart.
That's all folks.

Today's flowers
Re: Today's flowers
First two are ~ Maihuenia poeppigii & Gymnocalycium gibbosum. I would love to have those as much as these Escobaria's too. Lot of spiny stuff grows outside in Nevada.
But just some Opuntiads opened flowers today.
And the milkweed (Asklepias speciosa) in front yard, native plant here.

If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.
