Post by CactusBoss »

Anybody here play it? I've gotten into it and bought myself this elaborate chess set. If any of you have some nice sets i'd love to see em.

Chess sets can be VERY expensive! The worlds most expensive chess set is $9,800,000 but most quality sets are usually from $100-$500 ish. Even if you don't play they're still beautiful and cool to have in your house. Here are my favorite ones

Although sets like these are nice you don't need them to play chess. All you need to make sure of is that the pieces are weighted cause you don't want them to topple over. And btw this right here is the $9.8 mil chess set

I began playing chess way before dirt appeared on earth... but not so much anymore. You might be interested in my chess set. My father made it and finished it about the same time I was born. The thing that makes it really cool is that not only did he make the pieces, but Daddy also built the lathe and the tools he used to shape the pieces. Needless to say, this set is priceless to me!

It’s not the fall that kills you; it’s the sudden stop at the end.

My parents gave me a wooden chess set for Christmas in 1957, when I joined the chess club in high school. It was just recently stolen when our house was broken into into.

In Europe, older folks still meet in parks for chess tournamets. And they still sell eleborate sets, mainly for tourists. Here are some samples sold in Russia.

I sometimes play virtual chess on Yahoo games. It's fun. You need to have Yahoo account, and then go to Board Games.
