Breakfast Surprise

Post by Bruce »

So there I was, quietly finishing my breakfast (the Most Important Meal of the Day, right?), when I heard a loud, high pitched engine noise followed by a louder thud. I went to the front door to see what could be seen and was met by:

The we thought it might be a good idea to get some other pics:

Seems neighbor had just had a friend dropped off and the friend's wife decided to make a u-turn. Somewhere during the u-turn, she lost control (she claims no memory of the event) and wound up at my front door. While she destroyed an expensive bit of my landscaping, luckily no one was hurt. The car just barely touched my house, missing the front door and the glass bricks surrounding it. But it was a busy morning, what with the local constabulary involved and all.

It must of been one hell of the breakfast. A strong one. To stay long in you stomach. 8)

New landscaping is always fun, especially if someone else pays for it!

Epic driving. lol
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.

Oh my gosh! That's crazy! Glad everyone is okay. Sounds like it took some skill to go from a u-turn to nearly crashing through your house! I do hope you get some really nice landscaping out of this!

Thanks for the good wishes.

Replacing the landscaping is going to have to wait until spring, unfortunately. Our area was among those hit hard by Superstorm Sandy (we took only minor damage, thankfully). The local nurseries are down to the dregs from people spending the summer re-doing their saltwater-destroyed greenery. So it'll probably be April before we can get high quality replacements.

Anyhow, it could have been a lot worse!
