cool, those are interesting critters, that around here usually get stepped on by scared people. I tend to let bugs alone unless they eat my cacti or are in my house and dangerous, but I still catch and release scorpions :)

Great pics everyone :)

Peter I don't know if I would let that spider live in my house for 2+ years but I don't mind the jumpers hanging around.

it's not a black widow. I am not sue what it is. It's shy and stays in it's nest MOST of the time. When I so see it out it's out a little bit.

Looks like it might be a wolf spider. Does its house have a funnel shape? We have some that make their home in our entry way and my son passes a good chunk of the summer feeding them. The green spiders on the opuntia and your car look like they might be lynx spiders.

DustBunny, not sure about the one inside, it has molted a few times, it's web and where it lives are in the picture. And the Opuntia spider is a type of lynx spider. :)

Need to add a link to the image between the img tags

Caught these 2 having a fight on one of my columnars today, in the time it took me to go inside and get the camera the spider must of got a bite in as by the time I got back out again it was all over. Spider has since then dragged it's dinner back into the gaps between the cactus ribs

Managed to get an ugly sun reflection in the lens as it was shot against the sun, not even a combination of lenshood and trying to shade it with my hand was enough.

If the image is on your computer and you click on "Full Editor" at the bottom of the "Quick Reply" box, at the left hand bottom it says "Upload Image", click on that then the "Browse" box to find the image on your computer, when you find it click on it to highlight it then click "Open", then "Add the File". Place your curser where you want the image in your reply then click "Place inline" and you can then use "Preview" to see if it's how you want it before posting using "Submit".
