Are all the bright green ones puffed up as a defense mechanism? Can you post a pic of them in their "normal" condition?

I really like Bakari - amazingly beautiful animal! Does the pattern on the skin change when they shed or does it stay the same for their lifetime? I really dig his eye peaks or whatever they're called.

I HAD to come back for another look!

Tim, the patern dont change, sometimes when there juvie's they have less patern once they reach a certain age there adult patern is completed. The things above the eyes are called horns thats why there called horn frogs, Bakari is a fantasy horn frog, hes a hybrid cross between 2 other diffrent horn frogs.
As for the African Giant Pixie frogs which are the 2 FAT blimp green ones, there both females and Wasabi is displaying the normal posture without beging puffed up in defence mode, When the puff up with air they also stand on there tippy toes and hiss or make a screaming/growling noise, they will tackle anything, i use to have a big 10 inch male that weighed a few pounds and he even tried to eat my sulcata tortoise one time , he ate garter snakes, rats, mice and even a bird once, they will bite you.. :D Whats funny is he rolled like a gator when he got ahold of big prey. In africa the males guard the eggs and tadpoles and will attack lions to protect there young.

Thanks everyone!! :D

Dustin that be me Tracey of all trades  well im just a woman whom loves everything.

What gorgeous frogs. We've raised some toad tadpoles, but always let them loose in the garden once they get about an inch or so. Wonderful for the munchkin (aka child) to see the metamorphosis though.

when I was a kid I had a pet frog that I raised from a tadpole. I caught a tadpole at our lake (in PA) and grew it from tadpole until it was a frog. I called it Swamp Thing. LoL
