Please discuss the pictures of Plants with no Spines in this thread

Great plant Daiv, it shows the variability of cacti so nicely (without spines)- but this topic mostly is succulent country, I gues. Let´s see what comes up in this one.

Does "very little spines" or "no noticeable spines" count?

I believe the idea should mean no spines whatsoever, but let's wait to see if Jens agrees - just to be sure.

I thought about entering this but it is so hard to get a photo that does this species justice...at least it is for me. First time it has flowered for me.

Sure will if it has no spines.

I think the less spines the better. You could of course post a picture of a plant with very little spines too. I- It is just a theme for people to think about another section of the cactus and succulent family.
And this is a picture contest - so it´s not the best plant which wins but the picture that conveys the theme best.

Yet another reason to see if I can get my hands on an Echinopsis subdenudata in the near future. Those are pretty cute anyway.

Here is a spineless Ariocarpus scaphirostris x fissuratus from 2 fall-times ago.

Nice one John! and a great reminder that most Ariocarpus don´t have too many of them spines..

Thanks Jens! Out of hundreds of pictures of my Ariocarpus flowering, there are only a few that I really like and this is definitely one of them.

Tony - I don't think we can allow you to enter the photo contest with that photograph. Just because you cut the spines off of that Ferocactus doesn't mean it's naturally spineless. That's just cruel!

(Just joking - I do know that this plant is naturally spineless)
