I just saw saw a huge agave americana plant around 5-6 meters wide growing in a high mountain area. The area gets several meters of snow and so many deep long freezes all winter long. The plant is not showing any signs of freeze burns or damage and it's living in the shade.
Just how hardy are these agaves?!
