What is this? Flowers? (Euphorbia enterophora)

Post by mmcavall »

I have this cuttings of Euphorbia enterophora since May. Since them, they are quiet, no signals of life but, some weeks ago, something happened, and the tips became brown and furry, and now I noticed that weird structure.

I suppose it is part of the sexual parts of the plants, but I can't even say whether is one of five flowers ...it is bizarre...

Anyone could tell me what is it?

Most people just call them flowers but cyathia is the correct name. I see 5 cyathia in the second picture.

I don't know your Euphorbia well enough to give a sure answer. Yes, they can be pollinated but I don't see anthers and pollen. You need that. I know Euphorbia obesa plants are male or female- not both. Guessing some other species of Euphorbia are similar then your plant might be only female. Some plants start with parts of one gender and then finish with parts of the other gender. Maybe someone that can give a better answer will post.
