Fockea edulis root question
So I've just bought a Fockea edulis and I would like to display the caudex above ground, but it looks like, up until this point, almost all of the caudex has been below ground. There are 2 clumps of roots coming out of the caudex near the top that I would like to remove in order to display the caudex. What I'm wondering is if there is any sort of special procedure I need to follow or if I can just cut the roots off and let the wound dry before repotting. Has anyone tried this before?
Re: Fockea edulis root question
You can cut off the smaller roots with no problem. Just make sure where you cut stays above the soil line to heal. Then go ahead and raise it however you want. Do keep in mind that the caudex grows biggest underground then slow down quite a bit when raised. So make sure the caudex is large enough for your liking before doing this.
