Euphorbia balsamifera ssp. adenensis

Post by jp29 »

Although my specialization in Cultivating small growing cacti of Bahia (Brazil) is well known, I have had a long standing love affair with Euphorbia balsamifera -- particularly the sub-species adenensis which is endemic to the Arabian peninsula. I had sought to purchase this plant for some time, but found it hard to come by. Now I own two specimens growing (healthily) in 4" (10cm) square plastic pots:

I have researched cultivation of this species, but the information is sparse. I cannot determine if this is a summer or winter grower here -- I would like to determine that positively for I want to take cuttings and root them as bonsai style specimens.

According to this they are winter growers.
