Later than Late

Post by savant »

An Haworthia haageana which doesn't seem to know what time of the year it is. This flower started to appear just a couple of weeks ago and quickly climbed to its present height at 28cm. No water has been given to my Haworthia's for a couple of months so why this one is flowering I just don't know.

Is it unusual for them to bloom now in the UK? Winter is prime flowering season in its native habitat and where I live.

I think flowering time for Haworthia in the UK is any time after June 22nd(the longest day) but the end of November into December is rather late. The best bit about it flowering now is you know your plant is alive & well.
