C and D's Succulents
Re: C and D's Succulents
Here is a new photo spree of Adromischus marianiae
I will start off with this one because it shows the pot, and which can see is small for the plant.
Adromischus like small pots and lean soil. I water them all year long, even during heat waves, but we live in a mild climate area, so you will have to decide your own watering schedule.
Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, "Rosyntjieberg" Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, "PopCorn Shrimp" Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, "Garnet Sand"
The most difficult variety, I've had this plant for 17 years and this is our best survivors, I do have a couple leaves rooting, but most die before rooting. I think I will try another photo that's not so purple. Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, "Ex Herre, VC 50/2109"
A slow grower, and maybe the same as "Garnet Sand" Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, "SH 2464, Rietkloof" Adromischus marianiae v. herrei, Kourkam, (maybe the same as Lime Drops, but a different clone with more color)

Re: C and D's Succulents
I am trying not to be a pest, but I have sent in three orders from your site and have not heard back on any. I think there is some technology blip, but I can't figure out what it could be. Would it be possible to have one of you email me at kdye1@aol.com just to see if I get the email? I have been checking my spam folder, but nothing there. Thanks.

I really liked this plant when i saw it in your greenhouse, i know it's a pretty rare one,
Where did you guys get your seeds from ? i have looked around with not a whole lot of luck,
I know the other user Cactusjordi has a plant as well . .
Do you know if this a easy one to make cuttings from ?
thanks !

Euphorbia herrei is neat, reminds me of Monadenium coccineum

It is neat. Almost makes me want to grow more Euphorbias.coldcactusmontreal wrote:Euphorbia herrei is neat, reminds me of Monadenium coccineum

Re: C and D's Succulents
I started with cacti but got hooked on Euphorbias. They have a lot more differentiation, can grow a bit faster and be a bit easier. But that's just my preference. But I've killed plenty.iann wrote:It is neat. Almost makes me want to grow more Euphorbias.coldcactusmontreal wrote:Euphorbia herrei is neat, reminds me of Monadenium coccineum

The "Succulent Guide"
I'm not sure how many people here on Cactiforum know about The Succulent Guide, but was created by Daiv Freeman several years ago, the creator of CactiGuide.
It was being slowly filled with info for the first couple years, and lately has grown extensively.
I asked the editors to check my old photos and post them to the guide rather than me having to submit old photos for every plant, and they did it !!!!!! Yea
They have taken 100s of photos from my 2 threads and filled the pages of the Guide, it's quite awesome.
Please accept my Appreciation for all the work you guys have done. Thanks

Re: C and D's Succulents
One of the best Euphorbias is definitely Euphorbia gymnocalycioides
I have 2 on their own roots, and 2 grafted plants.
I tried crossing them last year and got about 2 seeds.
This year I watched them more closely and was able to get the pollination done during the small window of opportunity
After the female part is pollenated, the seed pod develops on a small stalk that bends down When the seed pod is almost ripe, the stalk straightens out and stands upright.
Then when ripe, the seed pod explodes and sends the seeds upward and out. I wrapped packing tape carefully around the top of the plant so air can get in, but the seeds will be trapped.
I lost seeds some last time because they went straight up and I only had tape around the sides.
The seeds are very small. They are not that hard from seed, just slow.
I grew one a couple years ago to selling size in 3 years.

The plant is in deep dormancy

Re: C and D's Succulents
Is this early even for Ornithogalum? I'm looking forward to Othonna flowers, but not for a few more weeks at least.

Re: C and D's Succulents
Wow for the gymnocalycioides. Would love to try growing from seed myself. I imagine you don't have any extra seeds. How easy are they as a plant? they seem to be quite often grafted which implies they can have issues.
