I posted this photo of these unidentified volunteer bulbs last Winter, not knowing what they were.
CactusFanDan noting that they were probably not related to Massonia pustulata.

The flowers have popped, and there are 2 different plants, both unrelated!
They are some type of Lachenalia.

Lovely! :) Maybe Lachenalia pustulata? :P It seems that flower colour can vary from purple to yellow.

We just got a huge load of plants from a friend who is getting too old to take care of his plants anymore.
I got many plants from him originally over the years, since he grew alot of the same stuff I like.

We pretty much got all his old show plants of Tylecodons, and sales plants, since the rain was keeping them alive, some other stuff was dead already from lack of water. Also we got 100s of Conophytums, Crassulas and Adromischus!

It was a rescue mission for the Conos, we grabbed everything still alive, and after I gave them some water, they are coming back to life even though it's the end of the season for them, they were just soo thirsty. They thought that they were all doomed! and wouldn't have made it through another summer of neglect.
We will have many clusters for sale later in the year

I will post more soon,
but here is a rare one!

I will get photos of the flowers soon.

This isn't new, but the Guide needed a photo of the flower

Stop the Presses!!!!
The above plant seems to be 2 plants, or it's self fertile, which I doubt
I just crossed them on a whim, to see what would happen, and it fattened up in a week
so I crossed as many as I could, and now will have 100s of seeds
This plant is very rare, and I can imagine that there are many folks out that are looking for seeds
I will be adding a Seed Section at C and D Plants this summer.

except it's an Albuca

I am amazed with the number of plants that you have and the high quality of your photographs that you have posted.
Being new to succulents in your country, I hope to post some pictures of some succulents in Malaysia and also that in Melbourne. ( after I have learnt how to post , being new to forums )
Thank you. hlchang

I didn't expect this !!!

Flowers on my Dactylopsis digitata in my first year... Yea!
There are 2 plants, but I'm not sure they are different clones or not
I have crossed them for sure, hopefully they will form seeds

The first flower on the left opened about 3 weeks ago, and has stayed open all this time

The flowers are Phyllobolus like, but turn out to be more closely related to Aspazoma

A couple more rarities

A visitor from Laguna Beach gave me 2 clones of Dudleya stolonifera about 8 years ago
They did OK, but never flowered at the same time
This year they were at their best yet, but the other one aborted it's flower stalk

Trachyandra saltii
This is Denise's plant, she said she got it from Gene Schoeder in 2003 ish
I really never knew what it was until I glanced at the tag the other day and noticied it's another Trachyandra

A friend gave me this plant last year, we potted it up nicely.

I have 2 other species, and this one could be a mislabeled M. arboriforme
The lower stems do look slightly different, and the flowers start out strawberry and turn copperish,
so I'm not sure yet.

We got a selection of Adromischus hybrids from our old friend Bill Hagblom

This plant is Red Coral crossed with Little Spheroid
IMG_4948.jpg
IMG_4948.jpg (53.24 KiB) Viewed 3299 times
There are 3 more different clones of the cross, maybe from the same seed batch, all quite different - I guess I should put a photo of them??
(Coming up soon)

Here is my problem.. a name for each "cultivar"
They can sometimes be so good, that they describe the essence of the particular plant, other times they can be just for fun...
other names aren't that great, so it's better to start with a good name at the beginning.

Denise proposed "Cherry Bomb" for the above plant, which is good, but I still think the perfect name is out there
any suggestions???

Like I said, there are 3 more, and another 10 or so that could use creative fun names

Just spotted your Conophytum chrisocruxum. Six weeks before mine!

I thought Dactylopsis would be more dried up by now?
