Succulent may have been hit with rot

Post by poxkix »

Greetings all! I'm new here and new to succulents. I think I just made my succulent sick. It's funny because i'm a farmer and I failed my little succulent ](*,)

At first I thought it was sunburn but it got worst so now I think it's rot but what do you guys think? Its leaves was so easy to remove. Part of the leaves that was attached to the stem were dark.

After removing everything, this is what it looks like now, it has still one long attached so I planted it again.

And by the way, does anyone know what this succulents name is?

I think it's an Echeveria. Not sure if it's still alive but you can pretty much leave it alone and don't water it and see if it comes back

Again, probably a bad idea. You might have been better off trying to propagate it from the leaves. The stem usually offshoots the crown was healthy(since most disease affect the stem first). So chances are next to none.

Fingers crossed if the plant survives!
I'm new with succulents and cacti too, and recommend you should read about how to take care these little beauties before you get another one. They say they are easy plants to grow but for me its really not that easy 'cause I have problems to not take care of them.
But yeah for this plant I see few things where you got wrong: Too large pot, the soil stays wet too long and that can easily rot succulents and cacti. Also noticed there are droplets of water on the plant, you shouldn't let any water on the leaves because it too easily causes rot and kills the plant. Maybe you also watered it too much?
Hope you have courage to try again and succes growing the next plant!
