Black Prince FREAKY

Hi! I got this succulent about 2 years ago at shop in Rhode Island. He started adorable! So squat and beautiful with a lovely purply black color. However, a few months later, it started growing up up up and losing the occasional leaf. It is now unsightly and freaky. Any info on why this happened? I kept him in a windowsill but he has since been moved to the kitchen counter. He keeps growing.

It needs more sunlight. Your window sill doesn't seem to be providing enough and it became etiolated.
