Hello everyone!
I'm new to this site/forum and gardening too.
The online search for a gift led me to "succulent terrarium" and I was hooked! <3
I had managed to get cuttings of 2 succulents, One of which is "Sedum nussbaumerianum" ( don't know what the other one is). Since I have no idea about keeping anything alive i gave it to my mom-in-law. When i went to meet her about 2 weeks later..not only has it grown way bigger, the leaves had taken on a reddish hue and looked more like flowers! (soo beautiful!!!)
Before potting it,we had cut it and removed about 5 leaves (is it leaf??) from the bottom.
I read about succulent propagation online and they mentioned "leaf" propagation.. the leaf from the unidentified plant sprouted a tiny plant in 13 days.
nothing happened to sedum leaves till today morning (almost 20days later), they seem to have pushed a single tiny red hair-like growth(root?)
I surfed online and couldnt find anything regarding propogation of Sedum nussbaumerianum by its' leaf.
Will it work or am i going to be disappointed?

Re: Sedum nussbaumerianum - leaf? propogation..
Leaf cuttings work well with most Sedums.
If a small root is starting, you are doing OK. Give them a few more weeks to grow plantlets, and a few months to grow decent size plantlets!
13 days for your other plant is super quick!
Patience is often useful with propagating succulents and cacti.

Yes, that's a root - now all you need is a lot of patience.
