Stem turning silvery white. Please help.

Post by gammastar7 »

I'm new to cacti & succulents. I got a couple to start an indoor potted garden. I read that before potting I should remove the peat soil and allow roots to heal for at least 4 days. I also tried the cinnamon method to prevent root infection while they heal. My cacti are fine but my succulent is wilting. The stem is turning a silver/white color. Should I just pot it? It's been almost 3 days without a pot. I should also mention it's been cloudy out even though I have my plants next to an east facing window.

Looks like a small Pachypodium saundersii and the stem color seems right to me. As long as it is not getting soft and mushy it should be OK.

Thank you! I was wondering what type of succulent it was. It is soft, but not mushy. I planted it in soil yesterday. Since it's soft is there anything I should do?
