Jade plant has disease

Post by Jen8754 »

Hi,

I have a jade plant that is about 2 or 3 years old. It suddenly developed black spots which are a little bit raised. And also brown dried out spots. It started a couple of weeks ago and is progressing quickly. I'm afraid the plant is done for.
Is this a virus?
Does anyone know what is wrong and if the plant will be OK?
(I have not done anything differently to the plant and have had no problems up until now.)
Thanks,
Jennifer

Could be a fungus, just pull the ugly leaves off. Spraying a fungicide might help too.

I agree...I just found the "Pests & Disease" section of this website that has pics of a fungus attack on a leaf and it looks very similar to my plant. It also says that it is usually a systemic thing and the plant will probably die. The spots are all over my plant. Bummer.
