Sanseviera cuttings?

Did a search & came up with nothing, so hopefully not repeating... Discovered a big leaf of my one (most common) Sanseviera plant going soft @ base so detached (with blade). But thought came to me --- can Sanseviera's be propagated by leaf cutting?

I'm pretty sure they can, I think you can cut the leaf into lengths each about 3 inches long, then let them callous over and put in soil, making sure they are the right way up! I tried it once, but unfortunately it didn't work for me, then you'll probably have a bit more knowledge and a better idea than me! I hope this is correct and helps, good luck!

Thanks, James. Seems like routine care on cuttings, & could have just gone ahead & done it. But I have so many Schlum & Hatiora cuttings around, didn't feel like wasting space or time if it definitely wasn't going to happen

Yes they deffinatly can.
Most of the common ones root easily using standard succulent rooting procedures, cut, callous, stick and wait.
I am told that some like Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Golden Hahnii’ for example can be difficult but I have not attempted it.

I can say all sansevieria can be propagated by leaf cutting. Should be very easy(for me). Just cut the leaf(mature leaf), put fungicide, leave for 2-3 days in a shady area and transplant in soil. No water for a week and do watering like other succulent. Dont let it be bone dry as it will get shriveled. Its very difficult for Sansevieria to recover when it gets shriveled, Good luck, Hoteidoc
