rehab echeveria

Post by oldcat61 »

I have an echeveria that is a rescue from a gift dish garden. It has grown taller & has dried up leaves below the rosette. After I remove the dead leaves, do I repot deeper like a tomato? Or do I cut off the top ( scary ) & re-root? Also has 2 offsets at the base. I'm more into cactus, other succulents are a mystery. Thanks, Sue

I know someone who had a Echeveria that got a very long stem as well. She cut off the top and it re-rooted (often they seem to have aerial roots) and I got the base, which grew babies. I also have another one that had maybe 2 inches of stem and then fell over from the weight. The stem is now covered in babies, I haven't cut the top rosette off either. I decided to let it grow wild.
