winter care

Post by oldcat61 »

I'm getting my cactus ready for winter but I'm not sure what to do with the few succulents I have. I'll be keeping the GH around 50 for the cactus; I've brought the melos inside. I've been reading conflicting info on the net - no sh%t. What do you all recommend for winter prep? I have some lithops ( blooming right now ), a few aloes, haworthias, crassula & an adenium. Thanks for your help, Sue

Euphorbias should be kept warm in the winter. And they might need a bit more water.

Depends on what Euphorbias. The South African ones like E. obesa can handle temps in the 30s. I think it gets occasional frost in its native habitat. The ones from other parts of Africa including Madagascar do like some more warmth though.
I'm now selling plants on Ebay. Check it out! Kyle's Plants

The only euphorbias I have are obesa, horrida & a big crown of thorns which is bedded into the GH floor. Also have a faucaria & a monadenium. Sue
