Succulent ID

Post by ElieEstephane »

Any one knows what this is? Glaucous powdery leaves, branching habit slow grower. I think it's a graptopetalum species. Ideas?

Maybe Graptovera "Moonglow"? Or a similar hybrid?

Elie, bill baker does not have the acute (pointy) leaf tip that your's does. There are so many graptos and echiverias and pachys and hybrids that I have virtually no labels in mine. Finding out is one of those "someday" projects that has not happened yet in years...

I agree with Shmuel here. It's hard to id plants from just a rosette, as many features can vary between individual plants of the same clone.

Some features, such as leaf width, length and leaf density on the rosette will vary dependent on culture - grow a plant warm, damp and in lower light and the leaves will become longer, narrower and the rosette will become more open than if grown cooler and/or in more sun.

Other features, such as leaf pointyness are more diagnostic as they vary less with culture. Your plant has much pointier leaves than Elie's suggestion, so I don't think it is correct.

So I still think "Graptoveria "Moonglow" or a similar hybrid" is a decent id. I don't think it's reasonable to get a definitive id, as there are lots of very similar cultivars. Flowers would help greatly.

I kind of zoned out on this one since succulents don't interest me that much but i liked the color. After checking again i think you are right but i guess it's far from flowering size. Thanks again!
