A young columnar and another plant

Post by Brunãozinho »

Hey folks,

I have been to the Horst cactus shop and bought this columnar, I took a picture to remember the name when I got home but it came out too blurred.
Does anybody know this one?

Also, I'm gonna take the opportunity and post a plant which I'm curious about... I think it's a plant that occurs on deserts, does anyone know this one and where it occurs?

Thanks so much everyone!

The columnar may be stenocereus dumortieri.
As for the bonsai probably a cedar or a pine

Thank you!

Do you know if this second plant is found on deserts?

In my limited knowledge i'd have to say no. It looks to me like a pine or cedar which are forest trees

The label is Isolatocereus dumortieri, aka Stenocereus, as per elieestephane's id.

Some pines and cedars grow in semi-desert areas - however, I think that's a Japanese Black Pine, a very popular bonsai species. Try a bonsai forum for confirmation.
