Large aloe ID

I saw this beauty at my farmer's market and couldn't resist, but the seller only knew that it's an Aloe of some sort.

Any idea what this awesome sea monster is?

Looks like A. vera (barbadensis) - or at least close to it

Agreed. Nice sized plant. Though down here, they get pretty big. Especially if planted in the ground.

Whoa, I had no idea A. vera got so big! I always think of those as the little desk plants, so I looked for other species.
