Please tell me what kind of Euphorbia this is.

If you have a succulent plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Hi Brontosaurus

I'm not shure, if that is an Euphorbia anyway. Maybe a Huernia or Stapelia, one of these plants with thin stems and big stinking flowers? Some of them produce latex as well.

Best whishes,

Herjasto

I doubt these are Stapelia or Huernia. Can't it be Kleinia?

It apparently has thorns / spines ? (not present in Senecio stapeliiformis)

Hi Brontosaurus

It could be an Euphorbia nevertheless!?! Unfortunately the base of the thorns is not clearly to be seen on the Pictures.

To look on further Details I recommend the site: "http://www.euphorbia.de/indexe.htm", with english part as well. Main Menu - the plants - the euphorbias key of similarity - Group O3 - sebsebei?

Euphorbias often have a distinct woody base at the offspring of the spines, clearly separated from the rest of the sprout!

After comparing it to other E. knuthii that we have, I am almost certain that is what it is.
