I spotted these planted in a park in a recent trip to New Orleans; ideas on which species they are? (The plants in the two photos vary slightly, so they may be different species, but I'm not sure...) Both the main plants were on the large side (maybe approaching 4 feet tall, or a bit over a meter); I was surprised to see them doing so well in such a wet, humid climate!

Cacti and succulents are all over Florida, several of my plants are cuttings of escaped plants down there.
There is no cactus you can't eat, but you just might regret it if you eat the wrong one.
