Agreed. #2 is not Euphorbia milii, though. Maybe Pachypodium lamerei.

Thanks Teo and Greenknight. Also with no.2, it was given to me by a lady who said she had grown it by seed from her Euphorbia milii. I didn't see any Pachypodium in her collection, so I was wondering if you are 100% sure it is of the Pachypodium genus? If so, I might go back to visit and ask to see the parent plant so maybe I can get a more certain ID.

Actually, I take it back - Euphorbia milii is much more variable than I realized, many different cultivars have been developed. Most of those you see have much broader, rounded leaves, but I have found some that look like yours. Appears that those most commonly grown are "improved", dwarf varieties and hybrids - if hers is a hybrid, the seedling may not resemble it very closely. They're usually low, bushy plants, but one site described them as "up to 6 feet tall"! So be prepared for anything.

Ok. Thanks Greenknight. I do have 2 of those seedlings but only posted a photos of 1. The second one does have shorter, more rounded leaves and the stem is fatter with shorter spines. I guess I will just be waiting a while to see what they actually turn out like.
