Help with ID appreciated

Post by Yossarian »

Hi all,

I recently more or less inherited a couple of cacti and succulents from a family member who can't take care of them any more. Unfortunately I don't know much about either so I would appreciate your help in IDing them, so that I can better understand how to take care of them.

See also my other thread in the cacti section:

Thanks a lot in advance!

#1 is a cactus, probably Tephrocactus (articulatus form?)
Both 2 and 3 look like Crassulas (ovata for #2? and maybe arborescens for #3)

I agree #1 is a cactus, but not Tephrocactus - I've never seen leaves on a Tephrocactus, more likely Austrocylindropuntia subulata f. monstrosa. Some that look just like it here - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/70990/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Agreed on the Crassulas.

Austrocylindropuntia subulata f. monstrosa seems to match perfectly. And Crassula ovata for second as well as Crassula arborescens also seem to fit.
Thanks you both a lot!
