Hi there?

Does anyone know what this plant is called? I was told it is a succulent but I'm not that sure myself. Any guesses?

Not a succulent - your doubts were well-founded. It's an Angel Wing Begonia.

Ha ha. There are a lot of them. Can't say I've seen this one before - it has narrower leaves and fewer but larger spots than the common ones.

Some Begonia can be succulent... leaves, stems or caudex. But as with Euphorbia or Uncarina, a genus can group succulent, marginal succulent and non-succulent species all together. Not to speak that there is no clean cut definition of succulence...

Very true - but the "Angel Wing" group of Begonia hybrids are not succulent.
