Hello!
I just bought this guy last night, and I think it's a euphorbia. Maybe a leucodendron? It seems young.
(It never lets me upload attachments here, so I uploaded some externally. Sorry about the quality; I made sure the colors were close as possible though.)

And tonight I finally got around to changing out its dirt. It had two separate root balls and kinda lopsided growth, so I decided to plant them in different containers. Do their roots/bases look alright?

Thanks so much!

Austrocylindropuntia subulata monstrose, to be exact. The roots look healthy. It needs full sun, or the equivalent from artificial light.
