Succulent ID, If Possible

I nipped a piece of this plant down in Desert Hot Springs, CA, this Spring. It was in flower about 2' tall with this basal foliage. Corollas lips were very strongly recurved and color was deep red. Flowers in clusters. Hadn't seen such recurved nor deep red flowers before. I keep thinking of this as an Aloe but somebody can probably correct me on this. Thanks. John Hixson

Kalanchoe daigremontiana perhaps.

It is Kalanchoe x houghtonii (previously known as Bryophyllum 'Houghton's Hybrid').

Those things grow like weeds here in Texas(well my part of TX anyways). We call them mother of millions(that name is no joke.)

They freeze up in DFW, but my sister-in-law in Houston had one outside that was around 5 foot tall.
Here it is blooming in December...
