Gasteria?
Gasteria?
I assume this is some kind of Gasteria? I'm more into cactus but this was cute & had a bud, so I figured I'll squeeze it in somewhere. Any ID/ care tips? TIA, Sue

Re: Gasteria?
Very easy care plants, give it the same care as your cacti and it will do fine.
Not sure of the ID, take a look here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/b/Aloa ... cultivar/0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks, sure looks close. So many of the photos show spots & this little guy is definitely striped. Sue

Re: Gasteria?
Gasterias appreciate a bit of shade, in fact most of them don't need direct sun at all.
Cactus enthusiast on and off since boyhood. I have a modest collection of cacti & succulents.

Thanks Rod - I put it on the second level in my GH with it's "cousins". They seem to be doing well, all have flower spikes forming. Awful winter here in New Jersey, so it's good to see some of my cactus with buds or new spines. Spring at last. Sue

Re: Gasteria?
I imagine the ones without white bumps probably aren't quite as happy in full sun - the warty ones just get wartier in strong sunlight.
I've grown only the common Gasteria carinata var. verrucosa. It will tolerate anything short of totally drowning it or smashing it with a hammer.
