Is this some kind of sedum? Does anyone know what species is it?

Don't think I've seen one like this, but maybe the pic is deceptive. Can you tell us what size this is, or put something in the pic for scale, please?

Is this from a coastal area? It looks a bit like some photos of Suaeda sp, though I'm not personally familiar.
